Job Description
As a Junior Accountant, you will perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team. These include full cycle accounts payable, accounts receivable support, and basic corporate accounting duties including assisting with month end close and compiling reports. Ultimately, you will help our accounting department run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.
We are seeking talented individuals with the flexibility to juggle many tasks at once and triage issues as they arise. We are looking for a team player that is also comfortable working on their own on projects and issues when needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable invoice entry, payment scheduling, and vendor correspondence
• Support accounts receivable with customer payments and collections
• Post daily bank and credit card amounts to the general ledger
• Support annual 1099processing
• Reconcile balance sheets
• Assist with fixed asset, depreciation, prepaid and deferred revenue schedule maintenance
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries
• Prepare, submit and reconcile monthly payroll
• Maintain monthly financial metrics
• Assist with annual audit and other compliance needs
• Assist Controller with various financial projects

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Experienced with Quickbooks Enterprise
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures and GAAP adherence
• Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
• High level of proficiency with MS Excel and other Microsoft Suite applications
• Excellent oral and writing communication skills and organization skills
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information

Education & Experience

• BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field required
• Two years of relevant work experience preferred
• Additional certification (CFA, CPA, or working towards) desired

Compensation
Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Ascend highly values our employees and often pays above industry average.
