About the Role:
As the Assistant Village Manager/Administrative Services Director, you’ll bring your well-rounded leadership skills and financial expertise to the forefront. Responsibilities include:
Financial Stewardship: Take the helm of the Administration/Finance Department, overseeing all financial affairs of the Village with a focus on fiscal responsibility, strategic planning, budgeting, and audit compliance.
Human Resources Management: Lead the management of all HR functions, ensuring a supportive and inclusive work environment for Village staff.
Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with the Village Manager to drive the general administrative and operational functions of West Dundee, exercising professionalism, independent judgment, and effective communication at all levels of the organization.
Acting as a Key Representative: Step into the shoes of the Village Manager in their absence, representing the Village with confidence and expertise. Represent the Village on Boards such as the Intergovernmental Risk Agency (IRMA), the Intergovernmental Personnel Benefits Cooperative (IPBC), and the West Dundee Police and Fire Pension Boards.
Desired Qualifications:
Proven Experience: Demonstrate a track record of success in financial management and administration, especially in a municipal government setting.
Financial Acumen: Possess a strong financial background with a keen understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
Leadership Skills: Exhibit strong leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, make sound decisions, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Communication Skills: Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, from Village staff to community members, demonstrating diplomacy, tact, and transparency.
