Reports To: Human Resource Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt – This position is considered a variable hour full time position and will serve as a back up to the current Payroll/HR Clerks. The exact days and times can vary. This position is typically 8a-5p M-F. Any outside employment must be approved by the office manager in advance.
Summary: The Payroll/HR Clerk carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: Daily/general payroll duties, HRIS, onboarding, compensation, assists w/bi-weekly payroll and serves as back up to payroll and HR.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Position is located in the payroll office and back up for the front desk.
Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
Prepares and maintains reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the Payroll/Human Resources department. Prepares periodic reports for HR Manager and Director.
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as necessary and to represent the department.
Maintains the HRIS database (HR Actions) and keeps online files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
Maintains and keeps current the New Hire Log
Enters and tracks training records into database
Prepares paperwork required for new hires.
This includes screening applicants and assisting HR Manager w/onboarding requirements.
Perform back up for WASP missed punches report.
Adds and deletes WASP records.
Responsible for ensuring I-9/E-verify is completed timely.
May be required to prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting.
Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage and garnishments.
Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, and insurance withheld.
Assists with the day-to-day efficient operation of the Payroll and HR office.
Creates and responds to Trackits, HR Outlook Inbox, and other emails.
Assumes other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)required; three to five years related payroll or human resource experience and/or training preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Acceptable drivers record with valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft software.
