Reporting to the Executive Director, you’ll oversee the development and implementation of people strategies and policies at all levels within BHGHSTL. This leadership role will be establishing and building out critical HR functions supporting a culture where teammates are rewarded and recognized for great performance and ensuring that BHGH is recruiting and retaining diverse, top talent.

• Mon-Thurs, 8am – 6pm

As a Human Resources Manager:

Reports To: Executive Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

Supervises Others: Facilities Manager

You Have

• Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of human resources experience at a leadership level (e.g. VP, Director, Manager, etc.) OR Master’s degree +3 years of human resources experience at a leadership level (e.g. VP, Director, Manager, etc.)
• 3+ years working with diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism organizationally
• Human Resources certification (i.e., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred
• Drivers license with current insurance
• Minimum age of 21

The Impact You Make

• Lead the effort to bring new, creative approaches and best practices to the Human Resources Management function to support the organization’s growth, efficiency, and success.
• Provide strategic HR support and guidance to leadership ensuring compliant policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Develop, implement, and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment in alignment with BHGH’s values.
• Manage and support recruitment and hiring serving as a strategist and guide through the hiring processes.
• Drive engagement at all levels of the organization monitoring the “pulse” of team members to drive and sustain high levels of engagement.
• Resolve sensitive employee relations issues fairly balancing the needs of the organization and individual – assuming a “neutral, 3rd party” perspective.
• Research, develop, and implement strategies for employee retention, professional traing & development, compensation, benefits programs, and performance evaluations.
• As with life, priorities and duties can shift or be added to be as effective as possible for our scholars.

Bring Your Expertise

• Proven success implementing best practices in human resources management, including professional recruitment strategies, onboarding, training, and development.
• Superior ability to provide leadership consultiation and coaching.
• Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to lead Human Resources functions driving culture, retention, recruitment.
• Prior success thriving in building supportive professional relationships with diverse individuals from all cultures, and backgrounds, and at all levels of the organization.
• Experience project managing multiple, competing priorities.
• Reliable use and management of various software/communication systems (email, MS office, note sharing, etc.)
