Payroll, Benefits, and Compensation
Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, Life, LTD, retirement, EAP, etc
Administer employee incentive and discount programs, including home heating oil and propane, cell phone, etc
Assist employees with the daily operation of payroll and benefits questions
Ensure benefits documentation (SBC, plan documents) is updated and compliant
Reconcile monthly benefits invoices
Address benefits questions and when necessary direct them to the appropriate benefits vendor
Assist with the annual retirement audit, discrimination testing, and completion of 5500 tax forms
Manage workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and OSHA log
Complete FMLA requests and compliance
Prepare salary letters, stipends, employee housing documents, and PAFs
Assist Director of Human Resources with annual survey data entry
Recruitment and Onboarding
Assists in the recruitment and hiring process including job descriptions, postings, advertising, and interviewing
Conduct references and background checks
Educate and assist new employees on benefit plans, enrollment forms, and new hire paperwork
Perform timely and accurate input of data into the Payroll/HR database and the schools portal
Maintain and update personnel files
Training and Performance
Assists with scheduling and compliance with annual training programs
Coordinates annual open enrollment (scheduling meetings, updating, and completion of necessary forms).
Manage the introductory evaluation and annual evaluation process
Coordinate annual employee service awards and retirement gift programs, etc.
Coordinate annual flu clinic

Assist with the Safety committee as needed
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt, salaried position with associated benefits. This is a hybrid position, both on campus and remote work.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree preferred
Previous HR experience preferred benefits experience strongly preferred
Organizational and time management skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Exceptional customer service skills
Strong communication skills
Positive attitude, team player, performs in a manner consistent with the mission of Brewster Academy, and good sense of humor
Ability to be productive while working remotely
