We’ve made great progress in setting down the foundations needed to build a stronger EDI culture, but now we want a more holistic approach; one that brings together our objectives and actions to improve EDI in all the spaces that we work and influence on. We know getting our own house in order is vital to have authenticity in the external actions we take, but also in making sure we are designing the correct type of actions externally in the first place. EDI is intrinsically linked to our cause and our strategy to 2030 – we will only make tangible change through the collective efforts of colleagues, volunteers and supporters.
As our Head of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion you’ll be the senior lead within BHF for our people diversity and inclusion programme focussing on addressing inequalities within research and health. As our EDI subject matter expert, you’ll lead the development and implementation of our EDI strategies, providing internal consultancy and guidance to key stakeholders who require guidance on EDI issues impacting BHF. Reporting to the Head of Wellbeing, Safety and Delivery, you’ll work across the organisation addressing organisational culture and behaviour in relation to EDI, supporting the creation of leadership development training programmes that deliver impactful and powerful strategic solutions focussed on new and inclusive ways of leading and managing.
This is an outstanding opportunity to make a real and lasting difference. At the very core you’ll be a true EDI champion, able to evidence significant EDI expertise with a developed understanding of workplace cultures. You’ll also bring high levels of emotional intelligence and a track record of delivering, leading and embedding inclusive change initiatives, and an appreciation of how the fundamentals of EDI translate into wider external research, health and policy spaces.
