Job Summary
This position will provide customer support to employees by coordinating sign-in activities and answers to payroll and benefit related questions. The incumbent provides general office support for the departments of Payroll, Benefits and HR Support Services.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to understand and strictly adhere to the requirements of the Employment Eligibility Verification. Must be able to understand and adhere to the laws regarding the protection of confidential information and security of employee data. Good listening and communication skills. (To understand employee’s questions and respond appropriately.) Ability to understand the meaning of various HR data elements and use PeopleSoft HR and Finance to read data. Ability to provide accurate work in a timely manner. Professional attitude and an excellent customer service. Ability to understand and take directions. Must be able to learn all requirements of the job. Ability to synthesize information and understand when to seek assistance of other staff in answering questions.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university’s commitment to a “vision of excellence.”
Education and Experience
Equivalent to three years of administrative support experience required.
Experience with similar job duties preferred but not required.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,338 – $4,913 per month
Benefits
Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
Time Base
Full-time temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
