The Purchasing Agent plays a critical role in our organization, responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services while engaging in strategic sourcing activities. You will leverage our wide vendor base to lower our total costs while ensuring we purchase quality products and services. You will be the driving force in the companies’ realization of savings, supply efficiency, quality, and overall process improvements throughout all of our various divisions. You will lead the way while working closely with division management and the purchasing department team to create value by directing all purchasing activities and inventory management for our rapidly growing organization.

Position Summary:
Develops cost saving initiatives and implements best practices across all business units
Comply with company purchasing policies
Ensures compliance at all levels with corporate procurement policies and procedures.
Provides direction on purchasing decisions
Identifies cost saving initiatives and priorities
Identifies preferred vendor list for general use items
Assists implementation of future procurement software
Works to reduce supply chain costs
Maintain and inventory Crib Area
Receiving Duties
Packing Slip/Delivery reconciliation
Meet and work with each division to evaluate inventory needs
Implements and monitors ?keep stock? programs with vendors
Minimizes overhead by working to minimize inventory quantities
Identifies and establishes reorder points to ensure proper quantities on hand
Meets and negotiates with vendors and suppliers as a representative of Carver Companies
Develops and maintains supplier network
Works with current vendors and locate new opportunities
Utilizes the purchasing power of Carver Companies for all divisions
Evaluates and Analyzes cost tracking methods and develops key indicators and reports for performance evaluation
Reviews cost allocation and coding to ensure accurate reporting
Monitors, evaluates and implements the PO process
