Job Summary:
The Accountantisresponsible for implementing,recording, documenting, and monitoring financial transactions of C2ESin close coordination with the Finance Manager. The Accountant will contribute to the achievement of C2ES’s mission and the sustainable management of C2ES’sresources by ensuring C2ES’stransactions and reporting are in compliance with GAAP.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensures C2ES’s transactions and financial statement reporting are in compliance with GAAP. Makes recommendations to adjust C2ES’s policies, procedures, and internal controls to support this.
Processes, records, and documents accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, cash disbursements, fixed asset transactions, and other journal vouchers, in collaboration with the Finance Manager and following C2ES’s internal controls.
Receives,verifies, and recordsemployee expense reports and credit card accountings.
Prepares documentation to assistthe Finance Manager and CFO with reconciliations of bank, ledgers, financial statements, and others.
Prepares schedules and collects documentation for C2ES’s annual external audit.
Contributes to the preparation of financial statements and annual budget for the Board of Directors.
Documents and reports any real or potential violation of internal controls to the CFO or other management, as appropriate.
Participate in the scoping, solicitation, selection, design, migration, and implementation of a new accounting system.
Other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Must be able to learn accounting software systems.
Must be comfortable working with electronic documentation, rather than paper.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
Experience with Abila MIP, QuickBooks Online Advanced, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, are all pluses, but not required.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma required;Business or Accounting degree preferred.
Either 2 years college-level accounting study or 2 yearsaccounting work experience required.
Knowledge of and experience with non-profit accounting preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Location: This position is based in Arlington, Virginia; near Washington, DC.
