The City of Cibolo is seeking a highly motivated Communications Manager. As our Communications Manager you will be responsible for planning, directing, managing, and evaluating the public relations, marketing, and all external communication initiatives for the City and its key offices and programs. This position will require active relationships and engagement with administrative leadership, department heads, departmental public information officers, elected officials and the media to establish a cohesive voice and presence that appropriately and effectively represents a balance of the interests and viewpoints of the City and its diverse communities.
The Communication Manager will work with internal and external resources to develop and implement strategic communications, branding and marketing strategies that positively and regularly communicate the work of the City on behalf of its residents, as well as the high quality of life in Cibolo. The Communications Manager will ensure that the key internal and external stakeholders have the training, resources, and information to accurately reflect and reinforce information that residents need and want in a timely, transparent, and accessible way. The Communications Manager will be instrument in aligning cross-departmental efforts and initiatives related to incident/crisis preparedness, management and cohesive responses for the City and its leadership.

Our type: The ideal candidate must be extremely organized and be able to manage the logistics of multiple duties with professionalism and strong communication skills. In addition, the ideal candidate must maintain a knowledge and appreciation of the City of Cibolo and its strategic goals, as well as understand how to integrate key messaging into strategic communications. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical for success in the role, as are high levels of accuracy, timeliness, and dependability. The ideal candidate must be ready to build relationships across city departments and across our community of residents. Finally, the ideal candidate must have photography experience, the ability to make digital media for social media (i.e. graphics, short-form videos), and be a proficient writer.
In addition, you will also use data and/or analysis to decide how to expand the city’s targeted/strategic communications; continuously looks to and monitors industry best practices and innovations to improve overall delivery of content, make recommendations to supervisor on appropriate tools and strategies for improved communication efforts; acts as a resource and advisor for the development of content, and assist with emergency communications, City-sponsored events, and other communication activities. You will be required to work as an essential employee before, during, and after an emergency or disaster.

You are confident, creative, and empathetic, so clients never feel ” unheard” but know they are in great hands with your recommended course of action. You follow through and follow up with clients to ensure they are fully satisfied.
