Opens and closes the utility window as necessary.
Enters payments for deposits and connection fees from all new applications.
Answers incoming phone calls and provides general information or directing call to appropriate individual or department.
Greets visitors by providing routine information or directs them to to appropriate individuals/departments.
Coordinates work orders with customers and Public Works.
Processes open and close requests for service.
Produces letters, reports, tabulations and other materials as requested
Assists customers with new utility service applications and explaining new customer information; enters and processes applications for utility service.
Receiving and posting various payments including payments at the window, night drop and mail.
Assists customers with questions and disputes, orders any necessary actions to analyze.
Locates and sequences new addresses from building permits and entering them into the system for meter readings.
Processes orders for solid waste carts and recycle bins & coordinates with contractor for additional and missed service.
Processes city’s weekly bulk pick-up list for the solid waste contractor.
Processes daily work orders for water service.
Coordinates with Permit staff on builder new accounts.
Works with the software support personnel on any issues with the computer program.
Backs up the Senior Utility Billing Clerk on processing refunds and calling customers with high bills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): required.
Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Six (6) months computer experience
This position provides service to utilities customers and all others at the utilities window and on the phone. This position answers any and all incoming calls to City Hall; assists customers at the window; checks night drops and posts payments daily; orders garbage carts and recycle bins for customers; schedules bulk pickups for customers; enters new accounts; posts payments; assists with ACH calls; and performs other related functions as needed.
