The HR M&A Director for the Americas is accountable for managing the full deal lifecycle from pre-LOI to integration. They will engage with specialists on the due diligence and integration teams, HR centers of expertise (COEs) and other partners, both within HR and outside of HR, to execute on the deal strategy. They will have accountability for stakeholder management and the overall employee experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead end to end deal activities for HR in the Americas region.
Develop HR and People deal strategy and integration approach and oversee implementation, considering the deal commercial and operational objectives. Solicit input and gain buy-in from stakeholders to ensure consistent and smooth execution.
Engage HR deal teams and resources regionally and globally, overseeing key activities and also providing hands-on support.
Coordinate involvement by HR partners, COEs and external consulting expertise at various deal milestones.
Ensure each deal is managed in accordance with HR governance and operating model.
Develop and maintain strong relationships and client focus for internal partners and external stakeholders.
Facilitate knowledge sharing across the due diligence and integration teams.
Serve as a primary point of contact for HR and point of escalation for deal HR matters.
Gather feedback, identify areas for improvement, and participate in action planning.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience leading multiple, complex regional and global deals from pre-LOI through post-integration. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, manage prioritization and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience working in a large, global and matrixed, fast paced environment.
Exceptional experience with problem solving,
Strong collaboration skills to work with HR functional leaders, compensation and benefits teams, corporate development and executive teams.
Executive presence and the ability to conduct virtual and in-person meetings and influence outcomes.
Knowledge of US laws related to HR, employment, benefits and compensation. Understanding of employment environment and significant laws in other regions and countries.
Strong communication and relationship building skills. Successful team player who builds and maintains solid relationships with internal teams, helping further a collaborative work environment.
Ability to work with target companies, internal teams and different business units for integration planning and implementation.
Detail-oriented with proven ability to multi-task, manage time with competing priorities and aggressive timelines to achieve goals and close issues.
Qualifications
15+ years of experience in human resources including 5+ years M&A. Broad experience in or across other HR disciplines would be valuable.
Experience in the following:
Leading or participating in M&A deals in complex environments. Working knowledge of the deal principals and landscape.
Collaborating with target company’s senior leadership, HR teams and other cross-functional teams for integration, employee experience and change management
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in HR or Business preferred.
