Commonwealth of PA Hiring for Veterinary Medical Field Officer (Meadows Racetrack) at Home, PA Full Time

The Department of Agriculture is eager to fill the Veterinary Medical Field Officer at the Meadows Racetrack in Washington County, Pennsylvania. This position provides professional veterinary expertise in thoroughbred and/or standardbred racetrack regulatory medicine and supervises the Bleeder Medication Program and test barn activities. This position also administers Bureau of Animal Health and Diagnostic Services programs and legislatively mandated laws and regulations in the assigned PDA region to provide animal disease surveillance and control.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• 
  Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to one day per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Washington.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of farm animal and/or poultry practice experience as a USDA accredited veterinarian.

Necessary Special Requirements:

• Possession of a license to practice veterinary medicine as issued by a state board of veterinary medical examiners.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
