Job Summary
Community Roots Housing is looking for a senior level Human Resource Generalist to run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department with an emphasis on recruiting and onboarding as well as the administration of the HRIS system. This position will also take the lead on employee relations investigations and work with employees and managers to interpret and enforce company policies. Other areas of responsibilities include compensation and benefits administration.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the full recruiting cycle including job requisition, advertising, interviews and offers. Work with hiring managers to make sure they understand the process. Analyze the recruitment services used for their effectiveness, adjusting to best suit the organization needs.
Onboard new employees ensuring a smooth process that makes them feel welcome and valued.
Administer benefit plans including enrollments, changes and terminations. Work with Payroll to make sure deductions are correct and records are accurate.
Fully administer the Paylocity HRIS system to keep records accurate and consistent. This includes documenting processes, managing workflows and looking for ways to improve processes. Provide supportive training to staff to create and maintain “buy-in” for the system.
Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Work with the HR team to draft standard operating procedures.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
At least four years’ experience in Human Resources.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS system.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
SPHR, PHR, SHRM SCP or SHRM CP certification
