Staff Accountant with Sales Tax responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provide day to day accounting services related sales/use tax, and other balance sheet reconciliations
• Review and file monthly tax returns and associated work-papers.
• Ensures all check/EFT remittances and electronic filings are completed timely and accurately.
• Reviews sales tax exemption certificates.
• Responds to tax notices.
• Monitors laws, regulations and rulings as it concerns sales and use taxes.
• Performs sales/use tax internal reports as needed.
• Assist the treasury services department with reconciliations and research as needed
• Assist with period end close and associated general responsibilities

• Proficiency in windows-based computer programs to include e-mail, internet, and word processing applications.
• Sage Intacct experience a plus
• Multi-state and multi-entity retail experience a plus

Education:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting required (or candidate)

Experience:

• 5+ years of tax and fixed assets experience required. Hospitality finance experience preferred.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
