Department of Information Technology (DIT): There is one vacancy with DIT located in Honolulu. Under the supervision of a Data Processing Program Manager or Senior Systems Analyst, provides data processing support for a large agency or a cluster of smaller agencies. Conducts evaluations of user agency needs, provides data processing support services, designs and develops automated systems and procedures, assists in developing plans and obtaining approvals, and implements the agency’s data processing plans.
Special Work Requirements: Must be able to lift and move items that may be up to 40lbs. Must be able to available to work overtime as needed.
Honolulu Police Department (HPD): There are two vacancies with HPD’s Information Technology Division, located in Honolulu. Under the supervision of the Data Processing Systems Analysts IV or designee, the Computer Programmer II will work on selected programming assignments on a progressively responsible basis. Duties include performing studies or providing assistance to the studies of programming applications to determine needs and requirements; developing and testing programs and/or portions of programs; troubleshooting new existing programs; installing test equipment; and providing training to users.
Special Work Requirements: May be called in during emergencies; must be able to work standby rotation; may work shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays; move computers and equipment up to 50 pounds, work with high voltage, electricity, and wiring. Work in confined and sometimes dark spaces for troubleshooting equipment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major work in public or business administration, accounting, mathematics or a related field. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor’s degree.

Six months of stored computer programming experience.
Substitution: A Bachelor’s degree in Information and Computer Science (ICS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or a Computer Science/Information Technology related field from an accredited four-year college or university may substitute for the six months of stored computer programming experience.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a valid appropriate driver’s license (Type 3/automobile), as required.
