Reporting to the President and CEO, the
Chief Experience Officer will base their work on current research and best practices in the fields of museum education,
community education and partnerships, and visitor engagement. They will provide visionary and strategic leadership for a portfolio of
educational programs to ensure the museum provides high-quality services that are responsive to and speaks to issues
in the
community, especially ones that represent the museum’s values, including diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and belonging. They develop
and maintain relationships with other arts, community, and education organizations and leaders.
This position will initiate, plan,
and manage a diverse portfolio of grants that support the department’s efforts and increase earned revenues from program participants.
Working collaboratively with the Development team, they will assist in the cultivation of donors and general fundraising activities to
benefit the program area and cultivate interest among its audiences.
Essential Functions:
This position will
design and develop experiences for museum visitors and develop methods that facilitate the engagement of visitors with the museum’s
rich collections and programs. Successful candidates will demonstrate a deep understanding of how to engage cross-generational and diverse
audiences with a welcoming and accessible approach. They will also serve as an advocate for program development leading staff in creating
partnerships with K-12 and family programming that positively impact the community. More specifically, the major responsibilities of the
