Position Title: Human Resources Clerk
Reports To: Human Resources Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Primary Function:
Assures the smooth and efficient operation of a well-organized HR Department in a friendly and professional manner.
Requirements:
Educational Level: High School Diploma or equivalent. Formal training in office practices.
Proficiency Skills: Written and oral communication skills, ability to operate office machinery and deal with multiple tasks, computer competence (excel and word), typing and proof-reading skills.
Personal Skills: Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills and stamina to perform essential duties.
Salary: CCSS Classified Salary Schedule – A12 (start of pay band step is $11.96 to max step $21.55, steps awarded with verifiable comparable experience)
Works 240 days per year (yearly salary range $22,963.20 – $41,376).
1. Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.
2. Ensures primary workstation and responsibilities are covered at all times during the working day.
3. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in Google and Microsoft processing skills as applicable to job responsibilities.
4. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in spreadsheet applications as applicable to job responsibilities.
5. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of other computer applications as applicable to job responsibilities.
6. Maintains, orders, and manages files, records, office supplies, materials and equipment in an appropriate, accessible and current manner, including records necessary for reporting and accountability.
7. Demonstrates appropriate verbal, written and telephone communication skills.
8. Receives and returns telephone calls on behalf of the supervisor as requested using high standards of telephone techniques.
9. Greets visitors in a courteous and professional manner; provides information and handles routine business associated with a busy, productive and smoothly run office.
10. Acts in a professional manner and maintains a professional attitude towards the public and colleagues; adheres to cultural diversity guidelines, and exhibits the fundamentals of good public/customer service.
11. Complies with school, system, state and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics, as related to job requirements.
12. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and material; adheres to chain of command.
13. Participates in workshops and staff development activities and applies what is learned to the job; accepts new challenges in a professional manner.
14. Prepares, maintains and distributes the substitute teacher list.
15. Prepares new hire process monthly after each board meeting.
16. Organizes substitute teacher training.
17. Acts as liaison to the Sheriff’s Department, assists employees with criminal record requirements, maintains appropriate documentation of background checks and performs onsite fingerprints.
18. Assist with maintaining records for evaluation procedures.
19. Assist with the Onboarding of new staff.
20. Performs verification of employment for certified and classified staff.
21. Process payment requests.
22. Assist with Family and Medical Leave process.
23. Assist with processing New Hires, New Hire Forms and New Hire Orientation.
24. Assist with checking employee leave.
25. Maintains Personnel filling weekly including the transition to a scanning paperless office.
26. Assist with Open Enrollment.
27. Manages ID software to include; ID badges, school access, and school calendar entry for access.
28. Performs other duties as requested.
