About the Job:

Under general supervision and direction, the HR Generalist role is both hands-on and strategic in that this person provides both day-to-day HR support to employees within their lines of business within the organization, while also providing project management and support to Human Resources initiatives. This role is critical in executing company-wide projects, managing change, and driving process improvements while providing superior customer support. This role requires someone who has a strong HR foundational understanding along with the ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time. The individual will manage critical employee-life cycle events such as employee relations, performance management, develop communications to disseminate key messages with employees, focus on employee engagement, and provide support on culture initiatives. This role may also support the HR function by managing and driving projects from the initial concept through successful change management and final implementation.

Human Resources Generalist Duties:

• Administers and educates Human Resources policies, programs, and practices across dedicated for our dedicated markets
• Manage the onboarding experience for new employees, working in collaboration with other areas, such as IT, Operations, HR, Training & Education, etc. to ensure the best employee experience
• Establish partnerships and consult with key business stakeholders and HR team members to foster teamwork, collaboration, and learning within the HR team, contributing to a positive work environment
• Support change management initiatives by drafting communications, identifying potential barriers, seeking input from impacted stakeholders, and coaching leaders
• Works with HR Business partners and Operations leadership to diagnose supervisor skill gaps and identify possible training solutions
• Partners alongside management to address and assess performance management including coaching, counseling, career progression, reviews, performance improvement plans and corrective action administration
• Supports recruitment initiatives including recommending advertisement strategies, interviewing candidates, and coordination of employee communications and events for recruitment efforts
• Creates training plans for both HR and non-HR systems and functions (including Workday, Deputy, NinthBrain, PerformYard, etc.), working with managers to develop training programs for job specific roles, etc.
• Serves a pivotal point of contact for employees, researching and resolving payroll issues, benefit inquiries, employment verifications and providing general employee customer support
• Performs monthly audits of new hire data/access to ensure employees are properly set-up in Company systems; works closely with Payroll and Corporate HRIS team to address any issues in onboarding occurring in Company HRIS or in system provisioning
• Assists with the facilitation of new hire orientation and ensures required training is completed by employees
• Manages the maintenance of personnel/medical files, E-Verify administration, background, drug screening, and DMV adjudication review procedures
• Assists with Workers Compensation, disability, and Leave of Absence Administration
• Prepares all necessary termination paperwork and ensures exit interviews are conducted for voluntary departures from the organization
• Culture Change Agents assessing employee satisfaction, engagement and working with management on developing action plans based on feedback
• Conducts focus groups, retention initiatives, reward & recognition programs and employee engagement initiatives
• Ensures compliance with federal, state. and local labor laws to reduce potential for litigation
• Investigates any Employee Relations issues, employee complaints, and workplace issues while ensuring HR Compliance in accordance with Employment Laws and Workplace Safety
• Undertakes special projects as directed

Requirements & Experience:

• A minimum of 2-3 years Human Resources experience preferably as an HR Coordinator, Specialist, or in a similar role
• Must have a minimum education level of: BA/BS degree (4 year)
• HR Certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.) preferred
• Proficient in MS Office and HRIS systems (Workday strongly preferred)
• Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills
• Must be willing to travel as needed.

• Must be well organized, able to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and follow through on commitments
• Must handle confidential matters with appropriate discretion
• Ability to perform well in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
