About the role:
Dr. Squatch has an opening for a People & Culture Associate to join our team at Squatch HQ. We are seeking an HR professional with a strong attention to detail and a desire to assist with and drive projects in our P&C team. This is a great opportunity to learn from experienced HR leaders while ensuring employee data is well-maintained and serving as a resource for our Squatchers’ questions.
This role will report to the People & Culture Sr. Manager.
This is a full-time hybrid role with company benefits based in Marina del Rey, CA.
What you’ll do:
Manage all ADP data entry including new hire information, leaves of absence, salary/title changes, terminations, etc.
Leave of absence administration.
Support onboarding of new hires including the completion of activities like harassment training, benefits enrollment, and new hire paperwork.
Generating official internal documents such as change of status forms, annual salary/title change letter, etc.
Upkeep of HRIS data and HR files.
Maintaining all digital files for employees and their documents, benefits, and attendance records
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Assist with payroll processing.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Other HR-related duties maybe assigned.
About you:
At least 3 years of HR experience
General knowledge of CA employment law especially around leaves of absence
College degree preferred
Excellent communication skills
Someone who gets things done without perfect resources is innovative and works with a sense of urgency
Someone who has high standards takes ownership and is invested in the outcome
Someone who proactively helps others stays positive and has a good sense of humor
