The Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority is hiring an Electrician or Electrician Apprentice. This position will work at of the Peace River Facility located approximately five miles north of I-75 Kings Highway Exit 170, approximately 40 hours per week.
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing assigned work related to instrumentation/electrical process control equipment of water treatment plant facilities, water supply and storage facilities, booster pump stations, and distribution systems. These systems operate at voltages ranging from 24 volts to 23.5k volts.
This position is classified as essential in the event of a declaration of emergency and may be assigned activities that promote the protection of public health and safety or the preservation of lives and property.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school diploma, vocational or GED; Vocational/technical diploma; supplemented by a minimum of two (2) years of applicable electrical maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Special Qualification:
A valid State of Florida driver’s license to operate the motor vehicle operated. The requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment.
Possess a journeyman’s electrical license or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
If hired as an Electrician Apprentice candidate should have the ability to obtain a journeyman’s electrical license within 4 years of hire.
