BASIC FUNCTION:
This position, which can be based at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY, hybrid, or fully remote, exists to design, develop, and administer innovative nurse recruitment services, which support dynamic patient care services. Serves in a leadership capacity and as a member of a team in the continual improvement of nurse recruitment processes. Consults and guides nursing management regarding resource planning, interviewing, hiring, and retention of a highly skilled, diverse, professional nursing staff. Markets Ellis Medicine to external organizations and individuals in an effort to recruit qualified applicants.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Master’s degree preferred. 5-10 years of experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
Vaccinations: Full COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations required.
Experience: Requires an active New York State Nursing License and minimum of three years of nursing experience. Membership in professional nursing/healthcare organizations (i.e. AACN, ENA, AORN, AONE, NYONEL, etc.) a plus. Demonstrated successful experience in the design, development and administration of nurse recruitment and retention programs. Incumbent will have knowledge of relevant employment legislation. Effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills are required. A working knowledge and proficiency in various computer systems and software applications essential. This position requires that the incumbent have the ability to work as part of a team and provide leadership and influence management in nurse recruitment/employer matters in the continual improvement of work processes. Additionally, the Nurse Recruiter will need to work independently and start-up new programs and projects.
