The Engineering Technician series DOES NOT PROGRESS TO THE PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER SERIES, such as Civil Engineer I-V, Electrical Engineer I-V, or Mechanical Engineer I-V.
Current Vacancies: There are 2 vacancies with the Department of Design & Construction, Land Division. These positions serve as the Chief of Party of a survey crew assigned to perform all of the necessary field survey work involved in boundary, original land title, and construction surveys.
Special Working Conditions: May work in traffic, climb mountains and hazardous terrain (forest, swamp, streams, shoreline, construction sites, etc.).

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school with courses in mathematics. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Five years of experience in field surveying.

Substitution: Completion of a two-year engineering technician program at a technical school or community college, or two years of college civil engineering curriculum may substitute for one of the required five years of field surveying experience.
