Description

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join (and lead) our MLOps team within our Data Science org in downtown Chicago. This person will oversee a team focused on strategic customer focused initiatives and ensuring proper operation of the system’s many data science models. You will work in a fast-paced Agile environment who are designing, building, and implementing scalable micro-service systems consumed by companies around the world. 

What You’ll Do

• Act as a servant leader
• Build tools and infrastructure devoted to the Deployment, Automation, Scalability, Monitoring and Management of some of the freight industry’s best machine learning models
• Work closely with Data Scientists on deploying dozens of models integrated with various parts of the project44 Supply Chain network platform.
• Build software solutions which meet and exceed operating targets of reliability and performance with global customers and integration partners
• Attract, develop, and retain a high performing team, offering ongoing feedback, professional growth opportunities, and overall career guidance
• Closely partner with product and business teams to influence product decisions, roadmaps and provide subject matter expertise
• Collaborate with product, and data science on prioritization and scheduling of product and engineering features
• Work with QA to develop and implement efficient data testing capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• 8-10+ years experience in software engineering
• 3+ years managing teams
• Experience with containers, micro-services, java and scala preferred
• Experience with high volume SaaS data platforms
• Experience in close collaboration with Data Science

Minimum Qualifications

• Acting as a Technical Team-Lead for 1-2 years
• Experience with Python
• Experience with deploying machine learning models to production at scale
• Excellent communicator.

Pay: $200,000.00 – $350,000.00 per year
