We are looking for a Human Resources Representative to join our Human Resources team. The Human Resources Representative will work closely with field Operations leadership and associates to proactively develop relationships and execute on all aspects of the human resources function. Their emphasis will be placed on diversity and inclusion, associate relations, knowledge of and compliance with all employment laws, to include Federal, State, and local. There will be responsibility for talent acquisition, training and development, performance management, associate onboarding, low-level investigations for identified region along with supporting labor relations concerns, as needed.
Qualifications:
College degree
Minimum of 2 years of experience working within a HR department
Excellent work history
Labor relations experience a plus
Strong data entry skills – accuracy very important
Strong PC skills to include Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Ability to work flexible hours and flexible schedules as needed
Ability to pass pre-employment drug test
No conviction of felonies, serious crimes or have charges pending. However, a conviction is not an automatic disqualification of employment.
Ability to travel as needed
Ability to work independently. Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
Ability to plan and organize workload. Ability to handle very detailed information.

Responsibilities:
Advises associates and leadership on the interpretation of human resources policies, programs, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations; assists management in performance management and regarding general human resources issues.
Ensures compliance to Federal, State, and local laws as well as company policies.
Champions and promotes diversity and inclusion in all aspects of human resource practices. Works with leaders to create and maintain a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Influence leaders in the execution and sustainability of associate engagement action plans.
Work with Driver Recruiting and Talent Acquisition to create a local staffing plan to support business needs. Sources candidates for positions within identified region.
Ensures company communications are distributed as needed and required.
Participates in Town Hall/Associate communication meetings.
Conducts orientation and ensures a positive onboarding experience for all new associates within region.
Responsible for compliance with all documentation required for new hires (i.e. – I-9 form, applicable tax forms, company policies, etc.).
Responsible for conducting low-level investigations and recommending steps toward resolution. Situations of a more heightened or sensitive nature will be transferred to the Corporate HR team for assistance.
Addresses associate relations and performance concerns to include coaching, counseling and adherence to company, HR, and departmental policies and procedures.
Provide guidance and support for any labor relations concerns that may arise.
Supports field Operations with training and development needs to optimize their performance. Schedule events, identify participants and venues, prepare materials and facilitate as needed.
Ensures the integrity of the HRIS system by maintaining accurate information and timely uploads.
Prepares documentation and participates in ESC hearings along with department managers or applicable frontline managers.
Provide monthly newsletter article for company newsletter focused on specific region activities.
Demonstrates support to the Epes Transport System, LLC Quality Management System and its objectives, as applicable.
Performs other duties as may become necessary or assigned.
