EvergreenHealth Monroe, a semi-rural acute care hospital, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Behavioral Health Nurse Manager to oversee the nursing practice and standards at our Recovery Center, including the 10-bed Detox unit and 26 bed Residential unit for substance use disorder patients. Additionally, this role will actively participate in the project plan and development of a new Inpatient Psychiatric unit located within the hospital.

JOB SUMMARY of ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensures quality nursing care is delivered to all patients within the Recovery Center and Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Unit in accordance with the organization’s values, philosophy, policies, procedures and programs. In collaboration with the Department Leadership team, assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation, and continuing education for staff members. Evaluates staff performance, participates in nursing Quality Improvement and patient care committees. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess patient’s age specific needs to provide treatment and care. Collaborates with the EvergreenHealth Education Director to assess, plan, coordinate, implement, monitor, and evaluate a comprehensive educational training program to ensure that it enhances professional development of staff and promotes the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality healthcare within the Recovery Center and Psychiatric Unit(s). Duties related to this position are substantially focused on nursing practice, and standards, however multidisciplinary collaboration with other clinical areas such as Imaging, Lab, Pharmacy, Social Work, Psychiatry, Physical and Respiratory Therapies, Clinics, Behavioral Health Services and other clinical or ancillary services is required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, and currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100 and 700 healthcare certification. Bachelor’s degree in nursing, health care, business or related field required; Master’s degree is preferred. Minimum of 5 years in addiction medicine and/or behavioral health nursing and a minimum of two years nursing management experience. Additional certification appropriate to area supervised is preferred.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Organizational ability, nurse management and leadership skills. Demonstrated clinical expertise in area standards. Knowledge and ability to apply current theories, techniques, and evidence-based practices of nursing within their specialty area. In-depth knowledge of principles of adult learning is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:
Hazards include risk of exposure to communicable diseases and BBP, risk of injury from lifting patients and operation of equipment.
WORK CONTACT GROUP:
All areas of The Recovery Center and Psychiatric program(s) including patients, families, visitors, counselors, nursing personnel and providers.
SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, lift and assist with the transport patients. Must be able to bend, stoop, push and pull. Walks and stands for most of the working day.
SUPERVISED BY: Matrixed reporting to the Recovery Center Director and Chief Nurse Executive.
SUPERVISES: Registered Nurses, Licensed Practice Nurses, Nurse Technicians and Certified Nursing Assistants
