M Health Fairview is seeking a Health Equity Program Manager for an exciting new role within our Equity Strategy group. This is a full-time position offering a standard business hours schedule, potential to work in a hybrid format following training, and competitive pay & benefits!

The Health Equity Program Manager provides leadership and program management for selected system-wide equity initiatives requiring collaboration between experts and workgroups across various stakeholder groups including Healthcare Equity, Quality and Experience, and Health Equity, workforce Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Community Engagement.

The Health Equity Program Manager will work within the Equity Strategy Office and with the Chief of Equity Strategy and the System Director for Equity Initiatives to understand and map business objectives into a series of initiative outcomes and deliverables and to develop and communicate program strategies to achieve the organizations health equity objectives.

At an individual project level, the Program Manager communicates the vision of each initiative, coordinates efforts within and across initiatives, and provides both high-level oversight and project support to integrate initiatives in a way that realize the greater outcomes of the Equity Strategy Office. The Program Manager is accountable for managing the lifecycle of the initiatives they oversee, including initiation, planning, execution, objective closure, negotiation, conflict resolution, and risk management and mitigation. The Program Manager tailors communication of all facets of the program to varying levels of project/program participants and leadership.

The ideal candidate will be energized by working collaboratively to lead the design and implementation of innovative approaches that advance health equity, healthcare equity, and diversity, equity and inclusion within and across a large regional health system.
Responsibilities/:

• Work with Chief of Equity Strategy and System Director to identify cross-functional initiatives and make recommendations to leadership team for strategy development.
• Manage the initiative design teams including work allocation, team development and ensuring quality outcomes that best support the needs of the organization.
• Provide project management for strategic equity initiatives, including alignment, deployment, and improvement.
• Ensure alignment between equity initiatives and other organizational priorities for a cohesive overall experience.
• Monitor and mitigate scope creep.
• Monitor and mitigate delays to timelines.
• Oversee change requests and sustainability plans for equity initiatives.
• Ensure program effectiveness is measured through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Build trust-based relationships with employees, leaders, and community partners to support a collaborative and equity-based approach to system projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with leaders and executives.

Qualifications:


Required

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in industrial and organizational psychology, public policy, public health, or other related field OR 5+ years’ experience in project/program management

Experience

• 1-2 years in an internal/external consulting or project management role
• Demonstrated experience running a project or program from concept to completion
• Strong communication experience working with internal, external and cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and to effectively manage within it
• Knowledgeable and experienced in program management methodologies, performance evaluation and change management principles
• Ability to cohesively report outcomes across projects, set realistic goals and timelines
• Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and navigate diverse perspectives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to foster work culture and relationships among project teams to sustain program outcomes over the long-term
• Competency in Microsoft Suite and survey software
• Competency in data visualization software, such as Tableau
• Experience participating in interventions meant to improve health equity, healthcare equity, diversity, equity and inclusion, or access
• Demonstrated understanding and operationalization of the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion

Experience

• 2-4 years in an internal/external consulting or project management role
• Experience working in a highly matrixed organization
• Experience working on projects that represent transformational changes touching a majority of departments in a complex health care system
• Experience compiling and following strict budgets
• Experience conducting focus groups
• Prior use of Equity Impact Analyses to guide project or program development and deployment.
• Data communication/dashboard development
• Prior work leading quality improvement initiatives
