Plans, directs, implements and oversees human resources (HR) policies, practices and procedures for respective location within the assigned Hub by performing duties through subordinate positions. Travels up to 25-50% of the time with overnight stays required as business needs dictate.
• Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hiring, terminations, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, performance management and staff productivity of HR staff in specified location. • Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the department; develops and implements policies and programs as necessary. • Monitors the department budget for respective location; ensures compliance and addresses variances and other budget concerns. • Oversees the planning, organization and implementation of all HR functions and processes within an assigned location. • Ensures compliance with all employment laws, regulations, and FedEx Ground policies, procedures, and processes. • Manages, conducts, and provides guidance on investigations within the district; provides a thorough and accurate investigative report with appropriate recommendation(s) for corrective action. • Conducts meetings with the appropriate personnel to address any HR issues or concerns; encourages feedback and develops action plan if needed. • Analyzes HR metrics and provides creative solutions and action plans as necessary to ensure satisfactory results. • Collaborates with management to promote effective employee relations; assists with developing action plan if needed. • Oversee the hiring process within assigned location; assists management with the employee selection process. • Monitors and administers HR-related programs and processes; communicates results to management and develops action plans when necessary. • Conducts assessments to ensure location complies with FXG policies and procedures. • Oversees, conducts, and is responsible for location’s HR training compliance. • Serves as a knowledge resource to the assigned location. • Six (6) years professional HR experience in talent acquisition, employee relations or HR Generalist required • Combined experience in talent acquisition, employee relations and HR Generalist in an Advisor or a Specialist role preferred.
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred. • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications. • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management. • Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals. • Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals. • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions. • Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team. • Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to human resources. • Ability to travel up to 75%.
This position is domiciled in the hub at Middletown, CT. The candidate will have a flexible work schedule but must be prepared to deliver service across all shifts. This position may require travel up to 10-15%.
