Position Summary:
The Plant Human Resources Manager is responsible for the strategic and tactical Human Resource programs for the plant to achieve business objectives, improve organizational performance, and build associate value and job satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Develops and coordinates all activities of the Human Resource Department, including but not limited to departmental goals and objectives, process improvements, recordkeeping and maintaining positive associate relations.
Assures that location complies with State and Federal laws, including but not limited to ADA, FMLA, Civil Rights Act, Equal Employment Opportunity Act, OSHA, Workers Compensation, I-9s, and others as applicable.
Responsible for the recruitment, selection and retention of plant employees. Partners with Plant Leadership in maintaining staffing levels to budget.
Utilizes Workday analytics to identify trends such as turnover, recognition performance, open positions and training completion and create action plans to close gaps.
Provides effective guidance and coaching to Plant Leadership relating to employee relations issues, performance management and the corrective action process.
Develops, recommends and implements human resource policies and procedures; works with corporate HR to update associate handbook.
Develops and coordinates training programs for managers, supervisors, and hourly associates, including but not limited to, leadership, legal issues, safety (OHSA), new hire orientation
Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
Develops positive public relations status with the various local civic organizations, manufacturing plants, and business people within the community regarding human resources functions.
Coordinates Drug-Free Workplace process (pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and work injury).
Provides direction to the HR Assistant
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Experience/Technical Expertise:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources preferred and/or 5-7 years Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment. Human Resources. Experience/education required in employment process, compensation and benefits, incentive programs, quality improvement, employee relations, wage and salary administration, benefit administration and payroll.
