Job Summary:
Responsible for the ongoing oversight of a GAAP & DCAA compliant accounting system. Includes analysis of processes and data to validate system integrity and the accurate tracking of costs back to underlying activities. Job requirements include but are not limited to:
Overall responsibility for all general ledger, project ledger, and payroll accounting functions.
Reviews and analyzes variances between actual and projected costs for individual projects and profit centers.
Analyzes and validates all underlying transactions to the general and project ledgers.
Validates proper cost accumulation and allocation of indirect costs, and reports profitability of projects, product lines, and profit centers.
Ensures costs are allocated in accordance with FAR/DFAR requirements.
Primary interface with third party payroll administrator.
Primary interface with payroll, labor, and financial auditors, prepares all PBC schedules and reconciliations requested by auditors.
Completion of year-end general ledger and payroll closings, and other special projects as directed.
Preparation of monthly management reports, month-end procedures, burden rates, and general journal and accrual entries.
All monthly balance sheet reconciliations and work papers.
Post labor on a weekly basis.
Coordinates and reviews all data to and from third party payroll vendor.
Posts payroll and benefits on a bi-weekly basis.
Serves as backup for all critical accounting processes.
Prepares detailed cash flow forecast and analysis.
Complete year-end closing and assists in annual budgeting process.
Generates reports as needed for internal and external customers.
Responsible for initial setup and ongoing maintenance of projects and sales orders in the ERP system.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Minimum of five years experience in accounting. Three years experience in an accounting leadership position preferably in a government contracting environment. Excellent proficiency with MS Excel. Working knowledge of all MS Office software. Excellent working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Must be a U.S. Person. Background/credit check required. Drug/alcohol screen required.
Related Work Experience:
Solid working knowledge of FAR and DFAR requirements. Prior experience with the Costpoint ERP system would be a plus. Ability to understand and apply International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DSS) regulations/restrictions as they pertain to foreign travel and interaction with non-U.S. persons.
