Job Description
The Human Resources Generalist will use their knowledge of HR, employment law, and business to ensure our employees and environment reflect our core values. Working closely with the HR Manager and HR Generalist, this role will manage employee relations while partnering on strategic objectives. The HR Generalist is responsible for the execution of the ER strategy across the organization and for managing and tracking employee relations issues to help prevent them in the future. Also, we will look to you to provide insight to implement both immediate resolution and long-term prevention plans.
Responsibilities:
Manages daily employee relations interactions with a focus on maintaining a positive culture of employee empowerment
Manages team member relations and assists in resolving issues including conducting investigations, documenting, reviewing, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions to ensure consistent policy applications and legal compliance
Works closely with the GRI Management team to oversee the performance management process
Works with support staff to ensure that all HR administrative functions including payroll new hire paperwork, personnel file maintenance (including form I-9s), records retention, Department of Public Health approvals, etc., are handled in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner
Assists with annual benefit open enrollment meetings & annual trainings as required.
Assists with orientation trainings/onboarding
Helps coordinate employee training and development
Track and analyze various HR Metrics
Provides leadership and coaching to GRI leadership team
Monitors and assists with the management of employee relations, talent management (including progression and succession) and compliance
Assures compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws and corporate policies/guidelines and identifies opportunities to develop and implement new practices/guidelines to achieve business goals
Performs additional tasks as directed by the Manager of Human Resources in a timely and efficient manner
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Bachelor’s in Human Resources preferred
Professional certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.) strongly preferred
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an HR role
Demonstrated professionalism and business acumen
Working knowledge of payroll law, employee benefits and other HR policies
Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to engage in creating an amicable work environment
Requirements
Must be 21 years of age
The candidate must pass the state-required background checks related to Cannabis
Intermediate to advanced computer skills including the demonstrated ability to create and maintain data heavy spreadsheets and produce reports
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Experience working with HRIS systems
Experience in a complex, fast-paced environment
Excellent organization and planning skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to build relationships both internally
Good personal hygiene required for work in a bio-secure facility
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Manager of Human Resources
