Provide full range of Human Resources generalist duties and services including benefits, training, safety, employment, labor relations, and communications. As a member of the Company’s leadership team, this position shares accountability for formulating and achieving the Company’s operational plan. Additionally, it is responsible for managing all aspects of the Human Resources function, which includes: administration of HR policies and procedures; recruitment and selection of personnel; salary and benefits administration; bench strength planning; performance management; labor and employee relations; affirmative action and compliance; training and development; employee health and safety; and worker’s compensation.
Essential Functions:
As a member of the leadership team, participate in the development and execution of strategies and initiatives that enable the Company to meet or exceed its business objectives.
Formulate HR solutions to assist in strategy accomplishment.
Ensure that Gartland Foundry HR policies and procedures are communicated and administered in a manner that conforms to the Company’s expectations and requirements and comply with federal and state employment laws.
Recruit and select high caliber talent (hourly and salaried) that will build the Company’s “bench” for present and future staffing needs.
Administer salary and benefits programs in accordance with governing design parameters and Company standards.
Assist the Plant Manager in driving the bench strength planning process so that a ready and able supply of talent is available to meet staffing demands on a timely basis.
Assist the Senior management team in driving the performance management process so that individual and functional alignment and excellence are key operating values and goals.
Formulate, communicate, and implement employee relations strategies and processes that enable the realization of business goals and initiatives.
Fulfill all regulatory requirements to ensure that the Company is in compliance with all governing labor and employment-related Federal and State laws and regulations.
Guide the development and achievement of a training strategy, plan and budget that will enable the Company’s employees to gain and continuously improve the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for a high performance workforce.
Administer the health/safety program and promote the wellness initiatives and administration of workers compensation systems and processes.
Administer and negotiate the collective bargaining agreement.
Administer safety policies and provide strategic direction to the Company’s safety programs in conjunction with OSHA and IOSHA requirements.

Knowledge Required:
Undergraduate degree in a HR or business-related field preferred; a Masters Degree in HR or business related field is highly desirable.
A minimum of 10 years experience as a HR generalist is required; additionally, must have significant demonstrated competence in the labor and employee relations fields and previous operations/manufacturing experience.
Must have extensive knowledge of and hands on experience in administration of grievance and employee compliant processes.
Must have experience in a progressive manufacturing environment and be knowledgeable of labor and employment laws and processes, training and development systems and processes, implementation and evaluation processes, policy, procedure and employee benefits administration, employee communication and feedback systems, and safety, medical and workers compensation laws and processes, and all aspects of Human Resources.
Must have strong management skills to plan, organize, and control a variety of human resources activities, processes, and systems.
Experience with Continues Improvement / lean manufacturing, teaming concepts, and employee participate practices; proven success as a team facilitator, team member, and team leader.
Proven proficiency with Microsoft applications.
Must have proven ability to lead function.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Normal office environment with frequent walking required through the entire manufacturing floor with exposure to noise, odors, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, and temperature extremes due to normal climatic changes in the weather.
