Job Summary
Human Resources provides day-to-day HR service and support to the Reston Regional office, as well as other locations, by providing a consultancy service to line managers and employees in the areas of talent management and development, performance management, employee relations, compensation, and benefits, and training.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides HR Generalist support to client groups and their staff by providing and managing all baseline HR programs (this mirrors support provided by Field Senior HR Managers; footprint is the same nationwide)
• Acts as an HR business partner to client group by developing and implementing HR strategy for client group; Assists with re-organizations and restructuring strategy for the client group
• Provides full-cycle talent management support; Provides performance planning, performance management support including PIPs
• Educates managers on HR policy and compliance requirements
• Manages employee relations for client group; Manages retention strategy and termination process for client group including exit interviews
• Handles EEO compliance and litigation issues with the client group, interface with legal
• Responsible for implementing training initiatives for client group (e.g. competency training, setting goals and objectives)
• Acts as FMLA Administrator for all client groups.
• Advises managers and employees on immigration issues including visas, permanent residence processes, and Company policy for client group; Coordinates work visa sponsorship and ensures maintenance of proper work authorizations for the client group
• Conducts new hire orientation and provides onboarding support for the client group
• Assists managers with drafting position approval requests, salary adjustment requests, and supporting documents for approval
• Ensures all HR best practices, procedures are followed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required, or relevant equivalent experience.

Work Experience:

• At least five years’ experience in progressively responsible human resource generalist roles
• Experience working in transportation, hospitality, manufacturing, or foodservice environment is highly desirable

Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses, and Registration)

• PHR preferred

Job Skills:

• Must also have proficiency in all areas of EEO/Title VII compliance including expertise in investigating and formally responding to Title VII charges
• Must have strong computer and database application skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must be knowledgeable in both Federal and State employment law
• Experience handling immigration and work authorization matters in a business environment is highly desirable
