This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-4 times per year.
This position oversees’ and assists the courseware design and development of numerous training programs within General Motors Dealer Network. The core responsibilities include managing the design, development and delivery of training content, which are executed by GM partner suppliers. Duties include leading supplier partners and business partners through the phases of training development, including: collaboration with internal business partners and SMEs; curriculum planning in alignment with GM’s business priorities; courseware and content development; optimization of learning deliverables using measurement and analytics; managing timelines to ensure deadlines are met; maintaining learning design standards; Learning Management System (LMS) interactions; and supplier management.
The Training Manager must be able to lead a team of suppliers and internal partners to connect key business priorities to dealership and field learner needs through engaging learning solutions. Individual must bring a solid background of training, performance improvement, adult learning with a desire to become a learning and development practitioner. Individual should expect shifting priorities and to monitor/mentor the suppliers and business partners to optimize learning behaviors…ultimately leading to brand recognition and sales. Individual will also focus on project management, ideally launching programs throughout a global workforce and/or retail network. The Training Manager will also be responsible for global interactions in support of training solutions for global business initiatives.
Major Responsibilities:
Build trusted relationships and drive results across vendor partners and brand / retail channels
Translate brand retail priorities into effective learning solutions and adoption.
Lead project teams from varying business units through development of training deliverables.
Effectively manage projects and timelines to ensure timely delivery of training content.
Coordinate and lead project meetings, both virtual and in-person.
Assist in planning of both short and long-term strategic training objectives.
Collaborate with GM Global Learning Network (GLN) colleagues to implement global business initiative training solutions.
Identify and implement innovative learning solutions in support of business priorities.
Effectively manage program progress and communications across varying channels (internal and external).
Find opportunities for continuous improvement.
Assist in the evaluation of vendor performance and improvements.
As needed, participate in the annual budgeting process for planning
Coordinate insights and present specific proposals to leadership, as necessary.
Cultivate and communicate company-wide and industry best practices/trends in learning solutions.
Responsible for budgets and ensuring cross charges are communicated and completed.
Manage master course list for all courses within scope of work.

Ability to manage multiple large projects simultaneously while delivering on timelines.
Current or previous, enterprise-wide training program/ development (including curriculum, progressive training plans).
Strong analytic and presentation skills, including written and oral communications at all levels within the company.
Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and to remain graceful under pressure
Educational Experience / Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, technology or closely related areas required.
Experienced in launching or guiding learning/training programs.
4-6 years of effective project or program management, including supervising vendor delivery and execution
Familiarity with GM programs and auto business/industry
