Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Human Resources Manager to work in partnership with leadership and employees at a State of the Art Lumber Mill in Albany, GA.
Albany is a non-union facility which employs approximately 200 employees. The HR Manager is a strategic business partner for plant leadership driving human resource initiatives designed to support continuous improvement of performance in the plant. This role will provide an opportunity to integrate all areas of plant human resources such as driving a Principle Based Management® culture, employee relations, recruiting and retention efforts, compensation, talent and workforce strategy.
What You Will Do In Your Role
Continuously influence the site leadership team to connect to the company’s talent position through coaching, mentoring, analyzing, and strategizing team performance and objectives
Ensure employees connect with how they drive value for the company and provide engagement activities to drive company culture
Identify talent gaps (individually and organizationally) that are obstacles to superior results and coach supervisors on the development of gap closure plans
Partner with various capabilities teams to improve our talent position – selection, attraction, and retention.
Utilize selection and performance management processes to select, coach and retain talent aligned with Principle Based Management®
Coach and mentor supervisors through the process of evaluating compensation recommendations and/or promotions based on value creation with a high focus on retention and turnover action plans
Understand, develop, apply, and coach employees on our culture of Principle Based Management®
Identify compliance risks and develop gap closure plans to address risks while implementing a systematic approach to maintaining compliance
Leveraging deep knowledge of Human Resources to use sound judgement to resolve conflict and help guide others to achieve valuable improvements
Resolve employee relations issues and use each situation as opportunity to understand the true root cause and develop a plan to resolve
Leverage data driven solutions and tools to inform decision making to support business and advance results.
Prioritize work tied to the greatest value opportunity to include continued automation of transactional work and leveraging shared capabilities across the business
Be “forward thinking” to anticipate needs and issues before they arise
Partner with other HR Leaders across GP to share information and best practices
Employee engagement and recognition strategies and an active floor presence

The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
5 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or Manager role
Experience working with, coaching, and influencing senior leadership
What Will Put You Ahead
8 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or Manager role
Previous HR experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Bachelor’s degree or higher
