Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy: Oversee the team in supporting semiconductor-related economic development projects, fostering relationships with various entities, and aligning efforts to attract and retain talent within the industry.
Partnership Development: Establish and nurture relationships with governmental bodies, community organizations, educational institutions, and industry partners to ensure successful project outcomes and maximize benefits for New Yorkers.
Engagement & Coordination: Organize community engagement sessions, drive stakeholder discussions on pertinent topics such as workforce development, environmental impact, and land-use planning, while fostering collaboration among state agencies, local partners, and federal entities.
Advocacy & Development: Collaborate with local and national leaders to create and back programs vital for the growth of semiconductor projects, working on policy development and initiatives to expand the semiconductor ecosystem in New York.
Industry Networking: Build and maintain a network within the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing industries, exploring new opportunities to bring innovation companies to New York and forging partnerships to leverage these opportunities.
Special Projects: Oversee and lead special initiatives as required, contributing to internal and external communications aimed at promoting partnerships, ESD programs, and the Office’s initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Advanced degree in Juris Doctor, Business Administration, Public Administration, or relevant fields of study. Extensive relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of relevant work experience with at least 3+ years in a supervisory or management role. Experience in government agencies and semiconductor-related fields is preferred.
Preferred Experience Includes
In-depth knowledge or experience within the semiconductor industry, including manufacturing processes and technology.
Government policy involvement in areas such as community development, sustainability, workforce development, among others.
Strong communication skills, public speaking experience, and adeptness in handling press inquiries.
Leadership involvement in strategy development, fostering a collaborative work environment, and building successful public-private partnerships.
Additional Skills
Demonstrated ability to distill complex information, make connections, and present information effectively.
Flexibility for regular travel within New York State as needed.
Note: This role may entail a mix of onsite and remote work based on New York State and ESD guidelines.
