We are seeking a professional with payroll and employee benefits experience to join the human resources team at our busy, commercial agriculture cooperation in Malin, Oregon. Candidate must be able to work well under pressure and multitasking is a must. This job entails managing the payroll and benefits for multiple companies, so attention to detail is required. This position requires good communication skills with employees, teammates and superiors. This role will also provide backup human resource duties as required.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Payroll and employee time tracking
Accounting
Preparation of payroll notices
Process Payroll
Distribute paychecks
Assist employees with health insurance or 401K enrollment or withdrawals
Processing garnishments, 401K & Child Support payments in QuickBooks & online
Payroll Cleanup Departments
Oregon Sick time tracking
Audit I-9 Records
Assist with Recruitment & new hire processing
Assist with Onboarding of new personnel
Assist with maintaining personnel files
Assist with assigning fuel codes (PIUSI)
Manage corporate cell phones
Manage company calendar regarding time off requests
Unemployment responses
Assist with unemployment hearings
Sign employees up for health insurance, 401K plan, AFLAC
Fill in for Human Resources
Manage employee database and Quickbooks setup
Setup Garnishments, Loans, and Child Support payments in Quickbooks
401K census, health insurance and profit-sharing reporting
Distribute COBRA letters
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts or Associates of Arts in accounting; or 2 years’ experience as a bookkeeper with an emphasis on payroll and benefits administration
Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Computer proficient
Microsoft Office proficient
Quickbooks proficient

Farm experience
Ability to effectively and efficiently handle pressure
Work Environment:
The job operates primarily in a professional office environment, with frequent farm and shed exposure, and frequent travels to other company locations in the Klamath Basin. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, filing cabinets and fax machine.
