Job Summary:

The human resources manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function within their assigned facility.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Enhances the facility’s human capital by planning, implementing, and evaluating team member relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices in correlation with Corporate/other facilities. Enforces management guidelines regarding these policies and procedures.
• Supports organization’s talent management process by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
• Works with the facility leadership to determine proper staffing needs are continuously identified and monitored. Maintains position structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions within Corporate system.
• Plans team members for their role by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs which foster a positive attitude toward organizational goals.
• Manages the compensation structure for the facility by conducting periodic pay surveys in cooperation with Corporate; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
• Leads engagement initiatives within the facility and local community. Utilizes and creates communication channels to facilitate effective communication at all levels.
• Ensures planning, monitoring, and performance appraisal for team members by training managers to coach and discipline employees; hearing and resolving employee concerns; and counseling employees and supervisors. Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
• Implements employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits; recommending benefit programs to Corporate; directing the processing of benefit claims; and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
• Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
• Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier. Coordinates Safety Committee meetings and coordinates the administration of WC injuries.
• Manages the contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as temporary staffing, search firms, safety shoes, benefits, and uniforms.
• Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records. Includes facility administration of Paycom system.
• Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Other projects/duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
• HR certification preferred (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Five or more years previous HR experience at a business partner level handling complex HR and employee relation issues.
• Working knowledge of several different human resources disciplines (employee relations, benefits, compensation, organizational development, performance management, employment laws, WC administration, HRIS administration, payroll).
• Strong computer and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

The team member is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use computers, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office supplies up to 20 pounds. This job operates in a professional office environment with considerable time spent on the manufacturing floor. The role uses standard office equipment such as computers, photo copiers, smartphones, etc.
