OPERATIONS MANAGER
The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the daily shipping, receiving and distribution, which services sales in the Pacific Northwest through our internal fleet, sales in Alaska through local maritime freight partners, and serves as the distribution hub for our Alaska locations. Ensure complete orders are shipped and delivered in a timely manner. You must be comfortable with both paperwork and utilizing information systems and have great knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Operations Manager: ? Oversee shipping and receiving processes to ensure accurate, timely receiving and shipping of materials ? Coordinate logistics of delivery staff to ensure all timelines are met ? Resolve issues with shipped orders ? Hire, train and retain appropriate yard, warehouse, and delivery driver staffing ? Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies ? Fully utilize software programs including shipping scheduling software, GPS tracking.
Operations Manager Position Requirements: 5 years experience minimum. MUST know logistics for shipping by barge from Seattle to Anchorage, Alaska ? Previous experience as shipping and receiving manager ? Solid knowledge of logistics procedures ? Experience in using EDI and preparing shipping documents (e.g. ASN) ? Computer savvy with excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) ? Experience in hiring, training, and evaluating and retaining staffing ? Excellent organizational and communication skills ? Attention to detail ? Problem-solving abilities ? Ability to work in a high-volume, fast paced work environment ? High school diploma; BSc/BA in supply chain, logistics or relative field is a plus
