The Director, Human
Resources is responsible for all functional areas within Human Resources including labor and employee relations, compensation, benefits,
classification, recruitment, training and development and human resource information systems. The position provides guidance regarding human
resources issues at the College. All responsibilities are carried out in compliance with state law, federal law and college policy and
procedure.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement human resources policies and
procedures. Interpret human resource policies, state and federal laws and regulations. - Develop human resources planning models,
including succession planning and professional development programs to enhance employee knowledge. - Serve as College-wide resource
in the area of labor relations for interpreting and administering collective bargaining agreements. Represents management in negotiations,
grievance procedures, and arbitration preparation. - Serve as the Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Officer for the College. As
one of the College’s Title IX officers, ensures employee conduct policy and procedures complies with Board policy and that Title IX
complaints are handled according to current policy. - Provide personnel related information and guidance to managers, administration,
and employees. - Represent the college on various state and local committees.
- Participate and assist in the development of
Montana University System Human Resources related policies. - Oversee department budget and provide input regarding human resources
into college budget. - Work to ensure the fulfillment of institutional mission and goals and provide vision and leadership.
- Participate in the strategic planning and budgeting process particularly from the perspective of the impact on people and human capital
requirements. - Inform and provide recommendations to the CEO/Dean on human resource related issues.
Required
Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human
Resources/business management. - Three years progressively responsible human resources experience.
- Knowledge of human
resource laws, regulations and guidelines. - Demonstrated ability to solve problems, deal with issues and concerns in a positive and
constructive manner
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Master’s degree
- Five years progressively responsible human resources experience.
- SHRM or HRCI
Certification.

human resources context and provide integrated solutions. - Have the desire to increase knowledge, acquire new skills, and take on
new projects and challenges.
