Our Opportunity
Under the guidance and direction of the Regional HR Manager and Retail Region Director, the HR Generalist is responsible for delivering HR support across the Delta Prairie locations, partnering with frontline managers, and enabling the business to deliver its goals and objectives. The HR Generalist will perform a wide variety of professional level duties, as well as administrative duties, in the areas of employee relations, talent management, and recruiting. Participates in cross-functional initiatives, special projects, and process improvement initiatives.
The HR Generalist is both a strategic and hands-on role that will be responsible for building collaborative relationships across the business in order to execute the strategies of the HR function and will offer a wide level of support across areas of performance management, benefits, training, and development, onboarding, policy implementation, DEIB, (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) and employment law compliance. The individual who fills this role will serve as the first point of contact for all employees in the assigned geography regarding HR-related matters and will be critical to the day-to-day operations. Plays an essential role in advancing a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive, workforce through inclusion practices.
Essential Functions
Serves as a partner and resource to Regional HR Manager, Region Director, and human resources team to ensure continuous communication and connectivity between the location and the business.
Communicates proactively and works with managers to resolve employee concerns and issues.
Responds to employee inquiries regarding timekeeping, payroll, and benefits, including health and dental, 401k, PTO, FMLA, and general employee personnel questions.
Administers LOA programs, and processes applicable paperwork and disability claims as needed.
Collaborates with the human resources team to develop effective recruitment strategies.
Proactively identifies future staffing needs and collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Assists in the recruiting process including posting requisitions, screening candidates, dispositioning jobs, and managing the interview process.
Prepares a great onboarding experience for new hires. Communicates with new hires regarding Day 1 expectations and manages new hire orientation and documentation; new hire packet creation, E-verify.
Provides guidance and coaching to department managers and employees on the interpretation of HR policies and other Human Resources programs
Prepares Change of Status (COS) forms and maintains employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, and pay changes.
Proactively promotes and maintains a positive work environment and drives employee engagement.
Helps to resolve employee matters by applying relevant laws, policies, and best practices to mitigate risk.
Builds strong partnerships with business/HR leaders to foster trust and accountability with all stakeholders.
Participates in cross-functional initiatives, special projects, and process improvement initiatives
Inputs employee data and transactions in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to ensure data integrity necessary for reporting and analysis.
Acts as an ambassador for GreenPoint Ag’s culture, vision, mission, and core values.
Leads and/or participates in projects and initiatives in HR and/or business areas to further deliver business results.
Has awareness of OSHA regulations and compliance.
Continually develops skills to maximize value to GreenPoint Ag and within the HR team.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive Human Resource Generalist responsibilities in a people-focused, customer-oriented environment.
PHR and or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Proficient with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have intermediate/advanced Excel skills, database management, documentation, and record-keeping.
Multi-location experience not required but preferred.
Prior experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) (UKG experience a plus) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).

Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills including presentation abilities.

Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.

Strong business acumen to translate the needs of the organization into HR solutions.
Current knowledge of State and Federal legal regulations and practices for HR.
Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. On occasion, will be in a warehouse setting for employee meetings and communication as needed.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands to finger is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
No heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force may occasionally be required. While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, and copiers is needed. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Travel
Ability to support geographically dispersed facilities in Delta Prairie with the flexibility to travel up to 10%. Must have a valid driver’s license and an MVR that meets GreenPoint Ag standards.
