Use your HR expertise to help people experiencing homelessness!
What You’ll Do
As HR Director with HELP USA, you’ll be a key leader on a cohesive HR team supporting 1400 employees working in our homeless shelters, homelessness prevention programs, and permanent affordable housing. You’ll be the “right hand” to the SVP Human Resources and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the HR Department with regard to HR administration, HRIS management, employee relations, performance appraisals, policy creation and revision, special initiatives and projects, and more.
You’ll be integral in our transition to a new HRIS, and you’ll contribute with both hands-on tactical as well as strategic support for our program leaders throughout the organization. You’ll work with management and employees to improve work relationships and morale, increase productivity, and reduce turnover. Your efforts will foster an inclusive and equal employment work environment for our staff and the diverse community we serve and promote a harassment and discrimination-free workplace.
You’re a great fit for this role if you have:
Commitment to our mission of helping people experiencing homelessness
Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a discipline related to Human Resources
At least five years’ experience in HR, including significant experience with employee relations, process improvement, and HRIS implementation
Experience managing a small HR team — providing direction and evaluating performance
Advanced skills in HR technology and MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
Credibility and personal presence to build strong, trusting relationships with our program leaders and their teams
Ability to take initiative, make decisions, handle multiple priorities concurrently, and follow up on details
It would be helpful (but not required) if you have:
HR Certification
Experience handling a variety of employee relations issues, both behavioral and performance.
Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish)
Location: Hybrid schedule including work from home and at our Central office location in Manhattan (Union Square)
Compensation: Range starting at $90,000. Salary depending on experience.
We Have GREAT BENEFITS!
Health insurance through Cigna, including dental and vision, with an option that covers entire family with NO employee contribution
Generous Paid Time Off!
401k with Company contribution even if employee doesn’t contribute
And More!
