SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to provide the first positive interaction with the public, to manage the front desk and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties and skills may be required as assigned.
· Receives and greets visitors and directs them to the proper party.
· Answers questions from callers or visitors of a routine or general nature.
· Obtains preliminary information from applicants for housing assistance programs.
· Operates telecommunications system by following manufacturer’s instructions for house phone and console operation.
· Competes basic word-processing as well as inputs data into housing software system.
· Assists in processing outgoing mail, as needed.
· Keeps a safe and clean reception area.
· Performs other duties, as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· No experience required
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
· Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
· Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Daily movements include sitting; standing; reaching and grasping; operating computers and other office equipment; moving about the properties;
· Attending onsite meetings and offsite meetings.
· The employee must be able to exchange information in person, in writing, and via telephone.
· The employee must occasionally transport up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Office environment
· May experience a range in temperatures and other weather conditions.
There will be a background check completed and a pre-employment drug screening
