Full Job Description
Primary Duties: The Payroll/HR Specialist is responsible for performing Payroll and HR-related duties on a
professional level and works closely with the Asst. HR Manager. This position carries out responsibilities in the
following functional areas: payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, terminations, policy implementation,
recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
Responsibilities:
1. Completes semi-monthly payroll for all HCEA employees: exempt, non-exempt and hourly
2. Collects and verifies timecards for hourly associates
3. Identify ways to improve payroll policies and procedures
4. Updates and Reports 401K to coordinate with payroll processing
5. Assists in development and implementation of human resource policies
6. Assists with recruiting on an as needed basis
7. Performs benefits administration for new hires, terminations and employee changes
8. Maintains confidential employee recordkeeping
9. Coordinates interviews with Temporary Employees and Agencies
10. Establish new relationships and partnerships with vendors who can offer support to HR.
11. Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves, compensation etc.
12. Witness terminations, write ups and any other disciplinary actions designated by management.
13. Completes HR related invoices in the SAP program
Requirements:
Experienced with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word
3-5 years Payroll Processing experience with Paychex Flex (preferred) for both salaried and hourly employees
Experience with payroll tax set-up for multi-state environment
Knowledge of current FLSA laws
High level of confidentiality
Must possess strong organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Knowledge of SAP a plus
Other duties: Assists with other duties and functions appropriate to the position as assigned by the manager from
time to time.
Work environment and other requirements:
The work environment is a non-smoking office environment. No heavy lifting required. Mostly sitting with
computer and phone usage. Accommodations can be made for handicapped employee. Travel only on an “as
needed” basis.
