The HR Analytics team does this by providing data and insights that help the people who work at Indeed to feel engaged, inspired and valued as they help people get jobs. The team spans multiple functions: Data (Product Management, Governance, and Engineering), Business Intelligence, Portfolio Management, Business Analytics, Employee Research, and Data Science.
Your Job
As a Data Science Leader on the HR Analytics team, you will be tasked with leading a team that builds models, develops applications, and designs experiments using data about Indeed’s employees. Although you will sit within the HR Function, you will have strong support from the broader Indeed Data Science group. We are expecting that you will:
- Use quantitative analysis, data mining, and machine learning techniques to understand the employee experience, including developing methodologies for flagging opportunities for intervention
- Identify opportunities to translate data science projects into HR Analytics products
- Design and use statistically sound methodologies for evaluating the impact of various HR initiatives and programs
- Demonstrate proficiency across a wide range of related areas- data extraction and cleansing, feature engineering, machine learning, exploratory analysis, and data quality analysis
- Share your work to a diverse audience across a variety of media. Help us promote and practice transparency by highlighting failures that we learn from as much as successes.
Who You Are
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional industry experience in HR Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or Data Analysis, including prior management experience
- Experience coding in Python, R or another advanced data programming language
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to write and present results to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Driven to help their teammates
- Experience designing and conducting complex projects
We get excited about candidates who
- Have experience in HR Analytics; at a minimum, a passion for the field is expected
- Master’s or PhD., with advanced coursework in statistics, machine learning, programming, or related skills
- Experience building and/or pulling data using SQL
- Production experience with machine learning and other advanced statistical methods
- Deep understanding of designing and implementing A/B tests, and advanced extensions

Salary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
Salary Range Transparency
SF Bay Area 180,000 – 260,000 USD per year
