The Job
We are looking for a self-motivated individual to be our Hiring/HR Generalist. A successful candidate will possess outstanding analytical and communication skills. In this role, you will undertake a wide range of HR tasks focusing on hiring, onboarding, organizing training for new hires, administering employee benefits and leaves, and various other tasks to provide excellent employer services to our employees. Familiarity with UKG and applicant tracking systems are a plus to assist you with your day-to-day tasks. In your role as the HR Generalist, you’ll act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics, focusing on keeping all shifts staffed fully.
The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to all shifts at Missouri Cooperage and Independent Stave Company.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, or as needed for weekend shifts
Compensation: Based on experience
Responsibilities:
Assist with all internal and external HR-related matters.
Ensures employee records are complete, up-to-date, and confidential.
Recommend strategies to hire, train, and engage employees.
Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, attending career fairs, conducting reference checks and interviews
Investigate complaints brought forward by employees.
Coordinates and provides safety and education programs for new and current employees.
Tracks completion of all personnel performance evaluations.
Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
Manage the organization’s employee database and HR systems
Prepare reports for both facility and corporate management.
Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
Requirements:
Two years of experience in an HR-related role.
Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
Approachable and appropriate behavior when interacting with personnel at all levels in a quickly changing environment.
Knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office, and related HR software.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and as a member of the management team.
