JOB DESCRIPTION
On behalf of our customer, we are seeking a Remote VOIP Project Manager. In this role, you must have experience with installing a new router or switch, understand how communication works with all stakeholders involved, offer direction to engineers that are onsite for turning up a site, connecting a circuit, router, or a LAN. If there is an issue with a new subnet, understanding it’s not getting DHCP, you will be the one to ping engineer or architect to let them know most like there is a missed Firewall to get the IP to run through the network. Other details including helping to facilitate installs and ensure VPN connects, issues with application gets installed locally on the machines, escalate and/or help push them along if something happens where the application if you ping, hits VPN, but gets denied then checking to see if the correct policy group is assigned to the user.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple projects (not full blown Microsoft PM, timelines, too large and fast-paced) for VOIP and WAN/LAN, VPN, and hosted Voice for installs, turn up sites, upgrades for the State of Georgia account
- Stripped down to subset of PM roles
- Log ServiceNow
- Track PM
- Status to Customer
- Attend Status Meetings
- You must work with various systems to submit requests and orders, track orders
- Provide updates to departments: Sales, Leadership roles, Reporting to Directors or CIOs with status
- Engage technical and non-technical teams
- Not too deep into the weeds for technical
- VOIP, WAN/LAN (hardware perspective understanding), how the environment works, how communication happens across a network, IP switches and routers, firewalls
Understand high level WAN diagram (plus)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Telco background from a major telecommunications company
- Experience ordering telephony circuits
- 7+ years of experience managing, transporting and ordering of circuits for VOIP and WAN/LAN projects
- Networking background or at least managed the projects related to upgrades, installs, turn ups
- Customer engagement background to know how to engage, delicate balance on sharing correct information to different leadership tiers
DESIRED SKILLS
- Former ATT, Verizon, Charter, Comcast, Cox or T-Mobile experience
- ServiceNow utilized by State of GA
- MS Project
