International Tennis Hall of Fame Hiring for Manager of Human Resources and Administration Job at Newport, RI Full Time

The International Tennis Hall of Fame is looking for a Manager of Human Resources and Administration to lead its non-finance related administrative and HR functions. The successful candidate will be a highly capable and self-directed individual contributor. They will report directly to the CEO and engage with all staff members. In partnership with the CEO, the Manager will facilitate a staff culture in line with organization values – Excellence, Inclusiveness, Leadership, and Integrity.

Responsibilities:

Human Resources

• Manage talent acquisition and retention, including: attracting and retaining diverse talent, improve quality and create consistency of posting style throughout organization, and compensation research and benchmarking to establish competitive packages
• Ensure company compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws
• Maintain oversight of PTO to ensure compliance with policy
• Manage, enhance, and fully implement the onboarding experience across the organization, continually identifying ways to improve the process
• Support leadership in terminations as necessary
• Manage employee training and development including fair employment and diversity and inclusion
• Partner with leaders and associates to understand and develop plans to enhance employee engagement
• Provide general HR support and counsel to employees and management
• Improve and update office policies and Employee Handbook
• Maintain personnel records
• Liaise with benefits broker regarding health insurance benefits and policies

Administration

• Support improvement of administrative record keeping policies throughout the organization
• Support administrative needs of TeamFAME, ITHF’s National Junior Tennis and Leadership (NJTL) youth tennis and education program
• Ensure state registrations are up to date and in compliance
• Track organization-wide vendor contracts and renewal details (keep central calendar for all departments’ contracts)
• Manage institutional communication alert system
• Track, update, and organize all governing documents
• Support engagement with outside general counsel
• Support liaising with Governance Committee

Qualifications:

• At least 8 – 10 years of human resources and operational leadership experience required
• Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or another related field preferred
• SHRM or PHR Certification a plus
• Experience supporting a 501C3 non-profit a plus
• Comfortable balancing multiple priorities, including human resources, program management, compliant record-keeping, etc.
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Generalist experience with all major area of human resources
• Knowledge of federal and state labor laws as well as current HR best practices
• Strong sense of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive employee issues
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
