POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in conjunction with five (5) years’ experience in aviation management. A minimum of five year’s related experience can substitute for a degree. This position requires a minimum of five (5) years’ experience maintaining complex, large category, multi-engine, fixed wing aircraft to include complex airframe modifications. The individual should have five (5) years experience working in a part 145 repair station, and a FAA A&P license.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations. The Government Maintenance Supervisor is directly responsible for all maintenance technicians and aircraft for the assigned program. This position directly manages lead maintenance technicians and indirectly manages over maintenance technicians.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Government Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for planning, managing and directing all service, repair and overhaul aircraft, and all other deployed locations. The Government Maintenance Supervisor must be knowledgeable in FAA and DCMA regulations and all parts of the contract on aircraft readiness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meets and manages all constraints of time to maintain the technical performance of the aircraft.
Excellent communication skills.
Assures quality of work accomplished by the maintenance team meets Repair Station Manual, OEM, Government and Corporate Standards.
Maintenance planning for the utilization of people, parts, labor, tools, and time management.
Establishes contract aircraft maintenance milestones and monitors adherence to the schedule and contract.
Coordinates with the Customer on matters of aircraft assignments, movements, and recovery of aircraft away from the main base.
Provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation for maintenance employees in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws individually or through subordinate supervisors.
Under the direction of the Government Maintenance Manager maintain reports that accurately measure aircraft maintenance performance, identifies potential problems, takes corrective actions and ensures company meets contracted goals.
Assure that timely, accurate records are maintained on all maintenance, repairs and overhauls completed on each aircraft.
Performs additional assignments as required.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
This position requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations and the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. This position must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
MATH ABILITY:
This position requires the ability to apply concepts of basic math and algebra, fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
This position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. This position must interpret a variety of instructions furnished written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Software: Maintenance Information System (Aviation), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
A&P Mechanics License
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level is usually moderate and this position is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit and talk or hear, stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT USED:
Safety equipment required to be used in conjunction with maintenance stands, towing of airplanes, driving equipment around airplanes, and use of tooling in back shops, in and around airplanes.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Background Check.
May be required to obtain a Secret government clearance.
