The Alliance is seeking to elevate land conservation as a priority nationwide. We envision a reenergized, more relevant conservation movement in which land trusts join with partners that have not traditionally identified as conservation organizations, including from the for-profit sector, around our shared interest of protecting special places.
Summary Description
The Alliance supports our land trust members and affiliates with a robust set of online events at the national and regional levels. The Online Training Manager will oversee the design, maintenance and delivery of the Alliance’s national online training program that helps build strong land trusts and ensure the permanence of conservation. The Online Training Manager will also serve in a pivotal role aligning regional-based online training events with national offerings. The Online Training Manager is a full-time employee of the Land Trust Alliance. The position requires periodic weekend and evening work and occasional travel throughout the United States.
Specific Responsibilities
- Develop creative online solutions to meet Alliance member training needs identified by program staff.
- Manage implementation of the Alliance’s national online training program, including designing, producing, and promoting 30+ instructor-led webinars annually.
- Produce high-profile national online events as needed, including biannual Symposium on Advanced Legal Topics in Land Conservation.
- Engage with external training partners to develop and deliver online training.
- Oversee Alliance’s current suite of self-guided learning modules, updating them as needed.
- Work, in close coordination with the Senior Manager of Educational Services, on the curation of online informational resources to ensure that online training, courses and learning tools are integrated and meet learner needs.
- Serve as coordinator of interdepartmental team tasked with coordinating, aligning and cross-promoting all Alliance training events.
- Assist other program areas in developing and producing online training events as needed.
- Assist with budget and grant management and with fundraising efforts related to education programs, including writing grant reports and proposals.
- Undertake other special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Reasonable combination of education and experience accepted.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience designing and implementing online training events strongly desired.
- Proficiency with Zoom or other online meeting software
- Proficiency with Articulate software a plus
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in adult learning.
- Proven skill at managing multiple, complex projects and delivering results on schedule.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High energy and enthusiasm
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal daily supervision.
- Availability and willingness to travel up to 5 percent per year.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Compensation
The budgeted salary range for this position is $65,000 – $75,000, commensurate with skills, years of experience, physical location, and unique background and qualifications of the candidate.
